Toy Project - Rainbow Swing

For Small Parrots - This swing is perfect for your Tiel, Parrotlet or Parakeet!

Materials needed

• 1 Pack of Smiley Beads
• 2 feet of 1/16" Stainless Steel Wire
• 1 Stainless Steel Pear Link
• 1 Strip Vegetable Tanned Leather Lace 1/8"
• 8 Wacky Beads
• 7 Novelty Buttons

Tools Needed

• Pliers
• Scissors
• Dremel Tool (Coarse Sandpaper can be substituted for Dremel Tool)

Instructions

Begin by sanding one end of the wire to dull the sharpness of the edge. Then bend a small loop on one end of the wire with a pair of pliers. Feed the beads onto the wire as illustrated in the photo. (Five Smiley Beads, then one Novelty Button. Repeat as illustrated.)

After all the beads and buttons are threaded, leave 1-2 inches of wire off the end, cut the wire with the scissors. Sand the edges to dull stainless steel wire. Finish the swing by closing the loop into the starting loop with a pair of pliers. Ensure the loop is closed completely.

Attach pear link to the loop. Cut leather lace into one foot pieces. Thread them through the loops and add the Wacky Beads for your bird to play with.
