Craft Projects for Kids
Rain Day? Here are some fun-filled ideas for you and your children. Our toy parts are so versatile you can use them in your home. Craft projects do not have to be expensive to be fun - you can recycle ordinary items around the house!
Decorative Frame
Spice up those old picture frames! Wouldn't this be a perfect gift for your child to give an aunt or uncle? How about a decorative Clay Pot for your favorite Teacher?
- Clean the frame and ensure it is dry before attempting to apply toy parts. Using Elmer's Glue you can accent the frames with our Novelty Buttons, Beads & Baubles, Flower Pony Beads, or our Straw Beads.
- Apply a small amount of glue to the bead of your choice and press against the frame. Let air dry for a few hours.
- Please Note: We only recommend using Elmer's Glue for homes who have pet birds. Any other glue may release toxic fumes which are lethal to birds.
Other Items to Decorate: The same project can be used to decorate other items in your home: Clay Pots, Light Switches, Family Photo Albums, Old Shoe Boxes transformed into pretty memory boxes - let your imagination go wild!
Jewel Collage Jar
- Materials Needed: 1 Clean Glass Jar, Elmer's Glue, Star & Heart Links, Daisy Pony Beads, Elmer's Washable Paint Pens.
- Place glue on the various beads you want to use in this project. Place them randomly on the outside of the jar to decorate.
- Accent in between the beads with Elmer's Washable Paint Pens. The glue will dry clear.
- TIP: Add an unscented tea-light to the jar for a great gift idea! Or a great keep-sake item to store sea shells from a memorable day.
NOTE: Do not light candles in homes with parrots. The scented oils are toxic to our feathered friends.
